My Journey

Interior design and home styling has been a dream since my teenage years.

I remember at seventeen purchasing items for what was then known by my grandmother as "putting away for the bottom drawer" – a place where you put treasured purchases for your future home. Homemaking was there from the start.

It took a roundabout route with careers in accounting, airline customer service and qualifying as a decorator with interior design… But all of these have held me in good stead.

I love creating a home; being able to source and curate a collection has been a delight – and seeing people pleased with their purchases has been wonderful.

When the circle completed nearly seven years ago with the opening of Penny Hamilton Interiors in the Old Market town of Reigate, Surrey, I was in my element choosing items that I would love to have in my own home.

And that has remained the philosophy: gentle products, building on a neutral palette, but layered with textures and accents. A modern country style, but cosy for city living too.

So here we are – online – a whole new platform. The ethos is the same: a home, a place to relax, enjoy and create memories.
